Indexed UL Flex II Overview
Principal Indexed Universal Life Flex IISM (IUL Flex II) provides individuals and business owners affordable death benefit protection with the opportunity for financial growth to help them plan for the unexpected. It’s ideal for budget-conscious individuals who want more growth opportunity than fixed products offer but don’t want the market risk of variable UL.
This product is approved in all states except New York.
Guarantees are based upon the claims-paying ability of the issuing insurance company. For financial professional use only.
- Three account options:
- S&P 500® Price Return index-linked account (one-year point-to-point)
- S&P 500® Total Return index-linked account (one-year monthly average)
- Fixed account
- Choice between optional Extended No-Lapse Guarantee (ENLG) rider with guaranteed protection to the lesser of 25 years or age 90, or a standard No-Lapse Guarantee provision
- Three death benefit options available
- Automatic trigger of over-loan protection
- Living benefits provided through accelerated benefit riders for chronic illness and terminal illness
- Males and females ages 35 to 65
- Like the flexibility and guarantees of universal life insurance, but are interested in the potential for higher crediting rates than traditional universal life offers
- Interested in guarantees that offer protection against market losses
- Desire the extra protection offered by an extended no-lapse guarantee
- Issue ages: 20-85; Maturity: Age 121
- Standard, Super Standard, Preferred and Super Preferred non-tobacco risk classes
- Banded cost of insurance rates:
- Middle band: $100,001 - $1 million
- High band: $1,000,001 or greater
- Cash Value Accumulation Test or Guideline Premium Test
- Death benefit options 1, 2, and 3 available (DBO 3 is not available if ENLG rider is elected)
- Interest crediting guaranteed minimum rates:
- S&P 500® Price Return and S&P 500® Total Return index-linked accounts:
- Participation rate – 100%
- Cap rate – 3%
- Floor rate – 0%
- Fixed account and short-term holding accounts: 1%
