Principal Life offers both Scheduled Vision coverage and Managed Care Vision.*
Managed Care Vision
- An established network of providers – including both independent providers and retail chains.
- Discounts, rebates and special offers on name-brand eyewear.
- Cost savings on qualifying vision procedures and screenings.
Scheduled Vision
- No deductibles, co-payments or networks.
- Employees can visit the provider of their choice.
- Discounts available when using a VSP provider.
We work with vision providers to make the claims process quick and easy.
*Not available in all states.
- Managed Care Vision - Providers generally submit vision claims directly to VSP.
- Scheduled Vision - Employees generally submit claims directly to Principal Life to be reimbursed for the cost of their visit. All that’s needed is a receipt showing services performed.

Additional Benefits
At-risk members can receive extra care. Qualifying members take the voucher to their providers. For correct claim processing, the provider submits the voucher and itemized statement to Principal Life.
