Salesforce for Principal Financial Network

Salesforce - what is it?

https://principal.my.salesforce.com

Salesforce is a powerful customer relationship management (CRM) tool to help you save time, while managing your client relationships. Salesforce is part of our core technology package, which includes: Salesforce, MoneyGuidePro (financial planning) and Box (paperless storage). The three pieces are a package. We are integrating them not only with each other, but with other Principal technology platforms.

Multiple versions of Salesforce are available - we selected Salesforce: Financial Services Cloud, an industry-leader for financial professionals, like you. The off-the-shelf version of Salesforce Financial Services has great features as it is, especially for newer financial professionals not yet accustomed to a CRM. We are continually building on additional features to meet the needs of our more experienced financial professionals and mature practices, especially those who have an established CRM.

February 2022 update:

New sharing solution in Salesforce that allows you to manually share individual lead and account records(opt-in required)

Based on your feedback, we've built the ability for you to manually share lead and account records with other financial professionals that you work with. This solution is a great fit if you share a handful of clients with other financial professionals but you don't want to share your full book of business in Salesforce. (Note: We have a separate solution coming soon if you are looking to merge your full book of business with other FPs.)

Frequently Asked Questions:

These are some of the more frequent questions we get, and they’re answered based on what we know today. You’ll see the answers are not one word or yes/no, so please take time to read them.

What are the charges for the core technology package?

  • $150/month per financial professional

  • $50/mo per private staff

Financial representatives will not pay during their 6-month employment period, or their first 6 months under a DD713 contract.

New financial professionals who join with prior industry experience will not pay their first 3 months under contract as they work to transition their block of business and migrate from their current CRM, if applicable.

Is it available to all contracts?

It’s available to DD713, DD715 (Principal Securities-registered only), DD723 (Principal Securities-registered only), and financial representatives. It’s also available to the private staff of these financial professionals upon request.

When will the charges show up on my statement?

When charges are being applied, they will appear on the 15th of each month. If you do not have enough to cover the cost, usual arrears/debit processes will apply. If you are currently paying for Principal hardware, these charges follow the same process.

What happens to the data and customer information I have in the core technology package if I should leave Principal?

There have been a number of conversations around data in regard to the use of Salesforce and the core technology platform, and we know you’ve had a lot of questions about our processes and the policies that guide our decision-making.

We’ve gathered the most Frequently Asked Questions (PDF) (login required) in one place in an effort to alleviate any concerns you might have about how we protect your clients’ information.

What about special pricing for President’s Circle or Honor Council financial professionals?

For our top 30 financial professionals (President’s Circle), we will pay for their private staff (unlimited).

For Honor Council (the next 150 of our top 180 invited to Principal Leaders Conference), we will pay for 1 private staff.

Please note this “perk” is only good for the calendar year(February-January) following the qualification and will be revisited annually.

Is there special pricing for a team?

Teams that are approved per the Financial Professional Team process will receive 1 free private staff.

How did you determine the pricing? Is it negotiable?

We are confident that the $150 value of the core technology platform far exceeds any other platform that offers the same functionality. In addition to subsidized costs towards each of the three components of the core technology package (Salesforce, MoneyGuidePro and Box), this value earns you the ongoing enhancements and features we’re building into this system, based on your input.
